Buffalo Commons feels like the kind of place where real change happens.

My Story
I grew up in a close-knit community in northern New York, and that experience continues to shape my work. I believe students thrive in environments grounded in empathy, consistency, and joy. Over the years, I’ve taught history, led district-wide initiatives, and supported both academic and social-emotional growth through collaboration and shared purpose. I’m passionate about building inclusive school communities where every student feels seen, supported, and challenged. As my partner and I put down roots in Buffalo, I’m excited to join Buffalo Commons and contribute to its mission of closing opportunity gaps and fostering meaningful learning.
What Brings Me Joy
I find joy in anything that gets me outside and connected to the world around me—whether it’s traveling, camping, hiking, playing sports, or diving into new experiences that challenge me to grow and see things from a different perspective. I’m especially energized by opportunities to share these moments with my family and loved ones.
What I'm Good At
I’m good at building strong relationships and creating spaces where people feel supported, challenged, and valued. Whether I’m leading a professional development session, coaching a team, or working one-on-one with a student, I focus on listening, collaboration, and consistency. I enjoy finding ways to connect big ideas to real-life experiences and helping others grow with confidence and purpose.
What the World Needs
The world needs more empathy, connection, and curiosity. We need spaces—especially in schools—where people feel seen, heard, and supported. When we take time to understand each other and create opportunities for everyone to grow, we build stronger, more caring communities.
Why Commons?
I chose Buffalo Commons because it feels like the kind of place where real change happens. The focus on strong relationships and high expectations speaks to what I care about as an educator. I want to be part of a team that shows up for students every day and believes in their potential. That’s the kind of work that matters—and I’m excited to dive in!
