I was drawn to Buffalo Commons for its vibrant diversity, sense of purpose, and commitment to students.

My Story

I spent my early childhood in the Lovejoy area and attended a Buffalo charter school through third grade before moving to Alden, where I lived until graduating high school. Throughout those years, I was involved in many sports, but my true passion was track and field. It was during high school that one inspiring teacher helped me realize I might have a future in education. While I didn't initially pursue teaching in college, life has a way of guiding us where we're meant to be and that path led me here, doing what I love and where I truly belong.

What Brings Me Joy

There are a lot of things that bring me joy, but if I had to choose just one, it would be knowing I've made a difference in someone's life. Whether it's through a small moment or a big breakthrough, I love seeing how my ideas and teaching can have a real impact on the students I work with. It means a lot to be a positive influence, someone they can count on and learn from. My goal is always to teach at least one thing (hopefully more) that sticks with them, something they'll carry with them long after they've left my classroom. That's the kind of joy that keeps me going every day.

What I'm Good At

I'm good at turning everyday moments into meaningful learning experiences that stick with students long after the lesson ends. I bring energy, creativity, and a sense of humor into the classroom to keep things fresh and engaging. I notice the little things like when a student needs a confidence boost or a different way of looking at something. Most of all, I'm good at making students feel like they matter, because they truly do.

What the World Needs

I really believe the world needs more go-getters; people who work hard, take ownership, and keep going even when things get tough! In my classroom, I focus on building a mindset where effort, responsibility, and growth all matter. Holding yourself accountable is just as important as trying your best, and I love helping students see the power in that. If I can help them believe in themselves, take charge of their goals, find the importance of honesty, and push forward with confidence, that's the most rewarding part of teaching!

Why Commons?

I'm thrilled to be joining this school community as a teacher; it already feels like the right place to grow and make a difference. After working in multiple charter schools, I was drawn to this one for its vibrant diversity, strong sense of purpose, and clear commitment to students. There's a spark here; people care deeply, think big, and show up for each other. I'm excited to bring my energy and ideas into the classroom and be part of something truly meaningful this year.
